it came to me an article about * knowing your enemy - meet Mike Parker the ceo of Dow chemical early this morning in my mailbox. Dow chemical is the company that made famous by the Bhopal Disaster 1984 that also known as the Union Carbide Disaster. There are several cases in the world that linking with this company, one of them was dumping an approximately 182 kilograms of plutonium into the Irish sea over the last century. This one of the largest chemical company in the world also responsible to the neurotoxin contamination, poisoning people and the environment. there are also some corporate members that were hiding in their high status company big names, and world class recognition. for example exxon-mobil. they made an ads on the tv, e.g discovery channel - to promote their generousity planting thousand of trees in the Africa continent, while on the other hands, they spill oil into the biospehere, release toxin gas emission, kill the birds, animals. etc. we are blinded by these corporate items by the fake ads.
the advertisement itself is a trash!
besides having issues with big corporates name, i'd like to pay my 2cent to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia on the issue of Broga incinerator. Broga is located near the Semenyih dam, the water catchment and is the future of The Malaysian first and the world's largest incinerator. a new - cleaner, safer method than open dump sites* as stated on the first of two pages advertisement. The ministry had run a hoodwink ads on local newspaper to convience the rakyat( people ) about the clean, smoke free - disposal system - but hiding the environmental impact from the dioxin, chemical residue that seep into underground waterways and into the water catchment. In actual fact, most Europeans countries and Japan have now realised about the grave consequences of thermal treatment technology, and they have decided to shut down their incinerators. while now, the Malaysian government decided to built and jeopardising the rakyat of 1.5 million that residing mostly at the Klang Valley who depend on Semenyih water catchment. This is sheer madness and stupidity.
The minister should wait for EIA before released the garbage advertisement. and look upon the by product of this thermal disposal method. the impact could cause an epidermic when the carcinogenic, dioxin, hazardous chemical residue soak into the earth poisoning the watercatchment and the biodiversity of the environment. the carelessness of this mistake could cause more lives and more than my 2 cent thoughts.
